The Research

why four prunes?

A Penn State randomized controlled trial published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition studied 235 people over 12 months. Three groups: four to six prunes daily, ten prunes daily, and no prunes.

The results:

The group eating no prunes lost 1.1% of total hip bone density over 12 months. The group eating five prunes daily lost only 0.3%- a clinically significant difference that held at both the 6-month and 12-month mark.

The ten prune group showed no additional benefit over four to six- and had a 41% dropout rate compared to just 15% in the five prune group. four is the dose that works and the dose people actually stick with.

That's why every Plummies pack contains exactly four.
